As I was working on our Christmas Cards at the kitchen table the other night, Ava asked if she could help. I immediately brushed her off by saying that it was a grown up job and there was nothing for her to do. As I watched her sulk away, I realized how cruel I had been. There must be a way she can help, I thought.
I remembered that my mother had given Ava cute Christmas stamps in her Advent calendar and thought that would be the perfect job within her abilities
So the company we used for our Christmas cards was AdoramaPix. Not only was the quality excellent, but their website was very user-friendly. The hardest part was picking out which design I wanted to feature from their many options. The one I finally settled on was one that showcased a several of our family photos that were taken throughout the year. I can be a bit nitpicky about paper quality, so I was relieved to see that AdoramaPix prints used high-quality heavy paper.
Here's how we stamped the envelopes:
I sat next to Ava and placed envelopes in front of her, one by one. (Make sure to have a wet paper towel handy because there will be ink on every single one of their fingers.) After she stamped, I laid them out flat so that they could dry.
The look on her face once we had finished, let me know I had made the best decision in letting her help. I was thrilled to get my Christmas cards done with a festive flair to them and Ava was happy to be a part of it. Mamma Scrooge averted...
